Draft Itinerary

Thursday 11

Those that fly in today should book accommodation at Howard Johnson, Newark Airport via www.hoteldiscounts.com
If you can't get in there, try Ramada Inn, Newark Airport, and as a last resort try Days Inn at Newark Airport.

Let David Kirkwood know of your travel plans, and if you are staying at one of the airport hotels and if so which one. (see below)

Friday 12 Rendezvous Howard Johnson Hotel, Newark Airport at 10 am
Drive to Shawnee-on-Delaware in rental vans. We have 2 x 15 seater and 1 x 7 seater booked
Practice round a possibility, then Cocktail Party
Overnight Shawnee-on-Delaware
Saturday 13

Play in Tillinghast Tournament (play with regular clubs or hickories)
enjoy Trade Fair
Dinner, prizegiving etc

Sunday 14

Drive to St Andrews Golf Club, Hastings-on-Hudson
Practice round with golf available for all those wishing to play
Some may have to play at another superb venue closeby.

Rough Costs for the "Grail" trip

Air Fares
The rendezvous will be at Howard Johnson Hotel, Newark Airport on Friday 12th September at 10am. You should make your own flight plans and book any accommodation required prior to 12th September. Alternative hotels at Newark Airport are the Ramada Inn and the Days Inn.

Your responsibility

One weeks transport in the US based on 29 tourists involved (2 x 15 seaters and 1 x 7 seater mini-buses) £60 each

Tillinghast Association Meeting at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort (Friday 12th - Sunday 14th)
Trade Fair Table ( it is OK to share a table)
Event, including Reception on Friday, Full breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, Lunch on Saturday, Golf with Cart on Saturday, Dinner Saturday, and all taxes and gratuities.
NB: A sponsored cocktail party on Friday evening (12th) is included and we are reliably informed that this can take the place of dinner!

Grail at St Andrews Golf Club (Sunday 14th - Tuesday 16th)
Accommodation Sunday and Monday - Sleepy Hollow Golf Club (Host of last year's USGA Ladies Amateur)

The "Grail" part of the "Tour" will be terrific and Brian Siplo and the St Andrews Club will be excellent hosts. This part of New York State is very picturesque and Tarrytown is where Washington Irving wrote his novels. Sleepy Hollow is right next door. There should be plenty to do when not playing or watching golf.

For non-golfers provision will be made for transport to and from New York city on a day to be selected either from Shawnee or Sleepy Hollow - This can be planned later in the year.

Other costs will arise e.g. gifts, tour kit, etc... more details when we know who will be going.

Many details still to surface - David Kirkwood will book all accommodation after 11th Sept and transport once it is known who and how many are going.
